Entering service in 1968, Southend had four of these long Leopards with somewhat angular East Lancs bodies, the most distinctive feature of which was probably their huge Ford Anglia style rear windows. This is the first known photo of Peter at work, at Leigh Station with the last of the batch, 218, MJN218F, with an evening peak commuter short on the 24.
Note the distinctly non-uniform jumper!
