A Plaxton Embassy bodied Bedford VAS of the 1965/66 period.
I photographed this in Malta in 1985 and was intrigued by the dark red livery which was so reminiscent of Hanson's, but Hanson never had a Bedford VAS.
For years I've wondered about this coach but have never been able to identify it. Then a few days ago I posted it on a Plaxton Facebook page and, after a few false starts someone has identified it as DKU571C one of two Bedford VAS 5's new to Bradford Ambulance Service in 1965.
It was exported to Malta around 1976/7.
I wonder what it's role was with Bradford Ambulance Service as it looks to be a standard Plaxton/VAS.
