G Plant, Rishton 996FNM was a Bedford VAS1 with a Duple Bella Vista C29F body which had been new to Vauxhall Motors as a demonstrator in February 1962.
This was, numerically at least, the first Duple Bella Vista body and was fitted to one of the prototype Bedford VAS chassis. It was sold to Mercers, Longridge in July 1962 and then passed to Bon Chaunce Luxury Tours, Preston in April 1966 before being acquired by Plant in April 1969. It was withdrawn by Plant in March 1973 and was next recorded as a non-psv in Skipton, where it was re-registered JSV 581 in July 1984. It became a transporter in Skipton in December 1988, then a mobile home by August 1990, and was last recorded in November 1990 with no further operator.
