LEN101 was new in 1960 and appeared at the Commercial Motor Show that year. It was new to Bury Corporation as fleet number 101.
Its stay at Bury was not very long and by 1964 it was operating for Wrights of Penycae, Wrexham. Wrights persevered with the bus until 1970, although the owners thought the bus 'was probably ahead of its time'. It then passed to Berresford Motor of Cheddleton where it saw little or any use. It was set aside in 1971 and languished on the premises until it passed, I believe, on a five year loan to the Greater Museum of Transport. Sadly it was damaged whilst parked at GMT Hyde Road premises. The picture shows the bus parked at Berrsfords after its withdrawal from service
I obtained the picture at a Bus Rally probably around 25 years ago. The name of the photographer was not shown.
