Barton Transport, Chilwell 788, XVO788, was one of six Leyland PS1/1 which were reconstructed, redesignated PS1/B and fitted with new NCME L31/30RD bodies, entering service in June 1958.
Four were from Barton's own fleet, while the other two were acquired from other sources. 788 had previously been Barton 562, KAL 382, and previously carried a Duple C39F body.
All six were withdrawn in April 1974 and passed initially to Ensign (dealer), Hornchurch between June and October 1974.. 788 later went to Jones (dealer), Jacksonville, Florida, USA in October 1975.
