Barton Transport, Chilwell 739, VVO739 was one of eight Leyland PS1/1 and one PS1 chassis which were reconditioned, redesignated PS1/B and fitted with new Willowbrook L31/30RD bodies, entering service between January and March 1957.
Five came from Barton's own fleet, while the other four were acquired from other sources. 739 had been new in August 1947 as Webster Bros (Wigan) Ltd 18. It had been registered JP 6514 and was fitted with a Santus C33F body. Barton acquired it from Triumph Coaches (Portsmouth) Ltd, Portsmouth.
It was withdrawn in April 1974, passing initially to Ensign (dealer), Hornchurch before being exported to the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, District of Columbia, USA in November 1974,
