Benfleet Daimler heads for home! This 1971 view shows 246, JVW561, a CWA6 with utility Duple bodywork leaving the town centre on service 3 to Benfleet where it began life in the Benfleet & District fleet as a CWG5.
The occasion was the final run of a Southend CW, more details in the John L message on 2/6/21.

Use of the Southend open top buses on normal services whilst quite rare was a regular occurrence. Your scribe had the pleasure of using one of the Daimlers on a Basildon-Canvey school contract shortly before they left the fleet; a somewhat unique experience!
