Eastern National BN1612, AVX962B, Bristol RELH / ECW DP45F, had been new as coach 401 (C47F) in January 1964 (one of the first EN vehicles with a suffix letter registration). Converted to dual purpose in January 1971. Reclassified as a bus in January 1973, hence the livery in this photo, although retained DP seats until November 1975 when reseated again to B49F. Withdrawn January 1978.
A very quiet looking Basildon for a weekday. In the background the railway station is being built.
