Barton Transport, Chilwell 901, 901LRR, had a Barton BTD2 chassis rebuilt from Barton 577, KAL 374, a Leyland PD1A, given a new chassis number and fitted with a new NCME FL37/33F body, one of six similar vehicles 'new' in December 1961.
This included three (a PD1 and two PD1A) from Barton's own fleet and three PD2/1 which had been acquired from Yorkshire Woollen District in March 1961.
901 was withdrawn in April 1974 and passed initially to Ensign (dealer), Hornchurch from whom it was on hire for a time to Southend. It was then acquired by JF & M Williams, Llangollen in September 1975, Administrators of AA Ford, Althorne in April 1976 and K Askin (dealer), Barnsley, for scrap, in August 1978.
