RHN69, a bus well known to most of SCT61's North East contingent and formerly United's sole Guy double decker numbered GGH1. Originally ordered by the Durham independent Darlington Triumph, it was delivered in chassis form to United and then bodied by Willowbrook.
Darlington Triumph had sold out to the British Transport Commision and together with a number of other local independents formed Durham District Services, managed by United.
Spending its early years at Carlisle, it moved to Whitley Bay spending most of its time there on service 17 to Newcastle via the Old Coast Road. On withdrawal it passed to Buxted Chickens, Thirsk, North Yorkshire for staff transport.
It does not look to be in too bad nick, apart from a badly dented nearside front dome. I do not actually remember taking this photograph, so have attributed it to my collection, but it looks like Thirsk Market Place.
