Tyne Valley Coaches 31, ONL986, was a Bedford SB1 with Duple Midland B43F bodywork, new in December 1958 to M Charlton & Sons of Newbrough in December 1958.
Charlton took over the business of Cecil Moffit of Acomb in 1958 and was itself acquired by Mid Tyne Transport in 1961 although it continued to trade as M Charlton of Acomb. In 1967 Tyne Valley Coaches took over from Mid-Tyne Transport. More detail on this convoluted process appears elsewhere on the site.
It is pictured at the Bellingham terminus of the route from Hexham. Since August 2015, Tyne Valley havenít operated any stage carriage services but, thankfully, still continue in business as a last remaining link to the pioneering operators of Hexhamshire and the North and South Tyne Valleys.
