Compass, Wakefield NUB711F, seen at William Street Coach Park in Scarborough, was an A.E.C. 2U3RA Reliance with a Plaxton Panorama I C51F body which had been new in June 1968 to Wallace Arnold, Leeds, on hire from Stanley Hughes (dealer), Gomersal.
When withdrawn in 1972 it had passed to Jack Hughes (dealer), Gomersal in October; to Wrigglesworth, Dewsbury in August 1973; McTiernan, Ossett in August 1975 and to Compass in August 1978. The reason for it passing to Jack Hughes rather than back to Stanley Hughes is that the Hughes business interests had been split between the father and son during the period of the hire.
