Another splendid vehicle used during this tour was Dye's of Hertford LNK22, a 33 seater Albion Valkyrie locally bodied by Thurgood of Ware new at the end of 1949.
Disaster struck later in the trip in the form of a Hillman Imp being driven at seemingly high speed in a narrow lane, on a wet surface. The driver, an Australian, extricated himself and immediately accused our driver of being on the wrong side of the road; this accusation soon faded as numerous photos were taken by numerous members of our group of the coach on its correct side of the road. The Albion lost a small triangle at the bottom of its radiator surround and the Imp was a total write off; fortunately there was no-one else in the car.
