JLR221 is a Commer Commando Q4, one of the large number of airport coaches to this design used by the RAF and the fledgling airways in the early postwar period. Here it is in use with a showman at the funfair on Colchester Recreation Ground.
I only wish I'd taken a shot of ex ENOC KNO607 visible in the background: my schoolboy logic was probably that L's were pretty commonplace!
