Gosling, Mareham-le-Fen ran this Leyland CPO1 Comet, GBE81, with Rainforth C32F body seen here in Lowfields Road, Leeds no doubt having brought supporters to a Leeds United match at the Elland Road ground.
It had been delivered in 1949 as C28F, was upseated to C32F by mid-1954 and downseated to C28F again in early 1957. Gosling had had three earlier vehicles with Rainforth bodies - a Chevrolet in 1930, a Dodge in 1935 and a Leyland PS1/1 in 1948. GBE81 was sold in March 1960.
For the record (thanks Les for the details), Leeds Utd played Lincoln City in the 2nd Division that day and Leeds won 1-0, with a goal scored by Jackie Overfield. The crowd was 17,378. The visiting team, Lincoln City, would explain why the Comet was there on that day.
