Millport Motors EMS826, a Bedford SB from 1953 with Burlingham C31F body started life with W.Alexander and Sons and by 1969 was operating on the Isle of Cumbrae.
The local service ran between Millport Pier and Keppel Pier (which was used in emergencies when the town pier was storm bound) and some journeys ran through the tiny housing scheme situated behind the main road at Kames Bay. The destination is accurately set! I believe these buses were the last petrol engine vehicles in the Alexander fleet (subject to confirmation ) as they say.
