Preserved DM6228 seen at Skircoat Road Garage, Halifax when in the care of a certain General Manager. Taken on the occasion of an Omnibus Touring Circle visit when we were driven round the garage at ever increasing speed on this old timer. DM6228 was a Leyland LTB1 Lioness with a Burlingham C26D body new in 1929 to Brookes Brothers, Rhyl whose business was acquired by Crosville in May 1930 and this became Crosville 435, being withdrawn in 1936.
It became Jersey Motor Transport C14, J2975, in 1938 and was hidden from German occupation forces during the war, in a tunnel. After withdrawal in 1953 it was returned to the mainland in 1958 by the West of England Transport Collection.
