Williams of Llithfaen, Caernarvonshire AHE 784. A Leyland Tiger PS1 with Roe B32F body, new to Yorkshire Traction as its 762 in 1947. Withdrawn by YTC in 1959 it passed via dealer Frank Cowley to Williams later that year.
Mrs. E. Williams (who ran the business at the time) ran a service from her home village of Llithfaen to Pwllheli, via Fron, Pentre Uchaf, Llannor and Efailnewydd. I recall her having this PS1 for the stage service and at least one coach. It was driven along the narrow, winding country lanes of the Lleyn Peninsular with great verve and proved extremely difficult to catch up with to photograph. Despite displaying Llithfaen on the blind, it is actually heading towards Pwllheli (I don't think the blind was ever changed). After all the effort that went into catching up with it, it's a shame the image turned out slightly blurred - maybe it was the excitement ! (This photo was also included in a gallery I posted on Old Bus Photos a while back - apologies if anyone's seen it before).
