Hopley's Coaches of Mount Hawke operated 678NTO, a Bedford SB5 with Plaxton C41F bodywork, which had been new in March 1962 to Waldren & Grange of Nottingham. The Bedford VAL alongside was operating the service car and seems to have a good load but I don't think the SB5 was required as a duplicate.
Hopley's were a relatively new company at the time and operated an infrequent service between Truro and Mount Hawke six days a week with the number of journeys depending upon the day of the week and an extension to Porthtowan operating on Wednesdays and Fridays. Happily the company is still around today and has gone from strength to strength over the years. The service from Truro to Porthtowan now operates hourly except on Saturdays when it's roughly two-hourly, and they operate an additional service between St Agnes and Redruth via Porthtowan covering a long-abandoned Western National route. Sadly, however, their vehicles are less interesting - Optare Solos on service work - but always immaculately presented.
