Yorkshire Woollen District 106, GHD769, a Leyland Titan PD3A/1 with Metro-Cammell H39/31F body, new in 1962 as 897 and renumbered in 1967.
Just to prove that YWD buses could occasionally look smart - if only for a short while following repaint. 106 is pictured here laying over in the original Brighouse Bus Station whilst apparently operating a short working of the 36 Elland-Leeds route between Brighouse and Heckmondwike. Through journeys on the 35/36 routes would normally have been operated by single deckers due to a low bridge at Park Road, Elland.
Alongside, a Halifax JOC AEC Reliance/Plaxton DP still carrying slip-boards for the X68 Halifax-Sheffield service waits to operate the Brighouse local service 52 to Oaklands.
