Yorkshire Traction 1231, XHE231, a Leyland Leopard with Willowbrook C47F body, new in 1962 and alongside North Western 149, AJA149B, another Leyland Leopard but this time an Alexander C49F body.
149 should have been numbered 31 but when Stockport changed to the year letter system at the start of 1964, numbers up to 100 were reserved for motorbikes so North Western had to change their plans.
There was a problem with my camera taking this shot which makes it look like a picture of two model buses but they were real !
