West Yorkshire DGW4, LWR424, is a Bristol KSW6G/ECW L27/28RD of 1953. In 1972 it was converted to towing vehicle 4044, and is now preserved.
This road was, until 1963, the Great North Road (A1) and Aberford was considered to be its midway point (approx. 200 miles equidistant between London and Edinburgh).
