West Yorkshire DBW31 (851), LWR417, was a Bristol KSW6B with the famous (some say infamous) CL27/24RD body dating from 1952.
Like most of the black and white photos of this bus, the exact livery variations are difficult to pin down as the chrome can look dark or light depending on what is reflected. Clearly, this is seen soon after it was repainted red and cream with chrome (originally black with chrome). No doubt to the relief of the maintenance and cleaning staff it soon lost its built-up mudguards and the chrome was overpainted cream.
