West Yorkshire 1064, 7935WU, a Bristol MW6G with ECW C39F bodywork waits on the erstwhile City Tour stand outside York Railway Station. It was new in June 1960 as CUG24 and became 1064 in the October 1971 renumbering. It was withdrawn in March 1974 and scrapped the following year.
Although itself redolent of a more elegant age than the garish City Sightseeing vehicles operating the equivalent tour today, a few years earlier the iconic CP1 (FWW596) would have been standing at this spot; it operated the tour between 1957 and 1969 and, thankfully, is preserved. A couple of Chris Hough shots of CP1 in recent years are already on the site such as this one.
