Tame Valley 17, AVT493A, a 1963 Leyland PD2A/27/Weymann, originally Western Welsh 917, 917DBO.
In 1990 my brother Patrick took redundancy from GM Buses, and after driving for Maynes for a few months he used his pay-off to set up Tame Valley Motor Services, an operation that with hindsight was doomed from the start. The only vehicle operated appropriate for SCT61 was this PD2A, which made sporadic appearances in service: I occasionally had the dubious pleasure of driving it, in this instance about to start an afternoon works journey from Trafford Park. After Tame Valley ceased, it remained parked up at the former operating base for several years until I believe the owners of the premises sold it and retained the proceeds in lieu of outstanding rent. It would be interesting to know if it still survives.
