Western SMT ST2072, DSD712D, a Bristol RELH6G was new in April 1966 with an Alexander C38Ft body in black and white livery. After being downgraded from motorway work it was rebuilt to C45F and, along with several similar vehicles, spent its last years at Stranraer depot and its sub-depot at Wigtown. Although subsequently repainted in standard livery, it retained its single-piece door.
It is seen laying over in Newton Stewart prior to a journey to Isle of Whithorn. The Isle is no longer an island although it was until about 200 years ago. Nowadays it is one of many attractive coastal villages on the Machars and was the location for some of the scenes in the film 'The Wicker Man'.
