West Riding 640, BHL682, is a 1948 Leyland Titan PD2/1, an early example of the model as the BHL batch retained a number of PD1 parts, particularly the front axles. Leyland L27/26R bodywork is fitted and the exposed framing shows the way the stress braces were fitted across the pillars.
After withdrawal in 1967 it became a training bus until March 1975 then passed to the West Riding Wulfrunian Preservation Society. Restoration started and stopped repeatedly over the years but finally she is almost ready to rally and will make her debut at the Dewsbury Bus Museum open and running day on 18 November 2012.
The picture was taken in 1979 in the old shed that housed the Society's fleet until the new Dewsbury Bus Museum building was built. See here for more details of the event.
