West Riding 594, AHL51, was one of their ubiquitous Guy Arab II's with a Roe utility L27/28R body, dating from 1945, reseated to L27/26R in 1950.
Here we see the conductor trying to find Austhorpe on the blind, ready to do a quick evening duplicate of their Leeds to Garforth and Castleford services. The photographer did some official traffic monitoring on behalf of Kippax & District at this period, and discovered that West Riding frequently abused their license by adding duplicates directly ahead of the competing K&D services to Austhorpe and Garforth. However, he also discovered that K&D did exactly the same when the opportunity arose!
