Wallace Arnold Tours KUG884 and KUM386 were both AEC Regals with Duple C33F bodies dating from 1947 and, unlike many half-cabs in the WA fleet at this time, were not examples of rebuilds or body transfers.
KUM386 passed to subsidiary Hardwicks in 1952 and both were sold to dealer PVD, Dunchurch in 1955. Both then passed to Wimpey for contractor services (KUG884 bearing the fleet number 29 at some stage) then both were sold to an auction house in 1960.
No further details are known for KUG884 but, remarkably, KUM386 is noted to have been in Malta in 1964 as a yellow and khaki double-decker - more details would be much appreciated.
My thanks to John Kaye for all this information.
