Wallace Arnold AEC Reliance/Plaxton 9922UG new in 1961
This very fine vehicle was only two years old at the time, immediately after being towed in following a totally un-necessary accident. I was driving towards Leeds in Roundhay Road during the evening weekday peak when I was hit head on by the outer car of a "fantail" of four all overtaking each other in the rush out of town. The massive collision, in which mercifully no one was injured, put the air brakes and accelerator out of action and I had to be "close towed" on a rigid bar by a mechanic who terrified me more than the lunatics who had caused the accident.
