Wallace Arnold 8324U resting at Southend Airport. Wallace Arnold ran a large fleet of the splendid AEC Reliances, a large proportion including this one of 1958 being of C41C layout.
The Company had in the 1960s a considerable daily operation between Yorkshire and Southend Airport, from where huge numbers of passengers flew across the Channel on Continental holidays - in this case I had just arrived with the clients for Tour No. 17C to Sitges in Spain. As many as seven coaches a day were employed and highy efficient cleaning and refuelling arrangements were in place with Eastern National at their Prittlewell Depot.
