The third batch of Bristol single deckers were intended for use (together with three contemporary open top double deckers) on the Sea Front services, had different opening windows and were in cream livery. Prewar (and possibly for a short time afterwards) they carried side route boards reading "Sea Front Service". JN8566 is seen here opposite the Kursaal on Sea Front service 19, probably in 1951.
These buses remained on these duties until the arrival of more open top double deckers (from Brighton & Hove) in the early 1950s, when they were repainted red and used on normal single deck duties.
