Wigan Corporation 69, KEK748, a Leyland PD2A/27 with NCME H37/27F body.
Wigan liked their Leylands. With two bodybuilders in the town and the Leyland factory a few miles up the road, they not only supported local industry but got good buses into the bargain. 69 is seen at New Springs crossing the Leeds and Liverpool canal inbound from Blackrod dropping steadily downhill to the centre of Wigan.
After being an early user of PD3's, Wigan reverted to PD2's after the 1961 delivery of 30' footers, finding them better suited to some of the town services and more economical to operate.
