Three of the ten Leyland PD2/12s with Park Royal/Roe FH33/23R bodies (811-820, RDH501-510) delivered to Walsall in 1953 were rebuilt in 1959/60 to 30 foot length and reseated to FH40/31F. Notice the small flush glazed window in the upper saloon where the extra length was inserted. The three in question were 811 to 813 and the middle one, 812 RDH502 is seen just up from Walsall Bus Station on 28 February 1970 on the occasion of a visit for a final trolleybus tour.
In the background is I believe Daimler Fleetline 2, 2272DH, in original condition unfortunately I didn't take a picture because I was a poor schoolboy with only a single colour film in my camera that I was saving for the trolleybuses and the unusual older motorbuses!!
