United Counties 522, NBD921, a Bristol LD5G with ECW H33/27RD body new in February 1957, seen at Bletchley Station on route 160 to Bedford.
During 1971 I worked for British Rail at Newcastle upon Tyne and used travel concessions to explore widely. This fine Lodekka was waiting to greet my camera as I changed late morning from a Bedford St Johns branch train to a West Coast main line EMU. Bletchley was very much a country town and railway centre in those days, Milton Keynes was just in the planning stage in 1971, with a few signs put up alongside green fields.
