From time to time, Tynemouth's Pickering bodied batch of Meadows 6DC 1949 Guy Arabs has been mentioned.
Similarly the three rebodies that Pickering undertook on pre war AEC Regent chassis. I remember this trio well and for a while one of them was a "cert" as our school bus.
They were moved on to Gosport and Fareham (Provincial) in 1957 following the latter's disastrous garage fire at Hoeford. Life on the south coast must have suited them well, as they lasted until about 1962.
Whilst in Tynemouth they were a bit camera shy but here is a picture by Fred York of 95 (FT4222) about to set off for Whitley Bay from the Haymarket at Newcastle, some time in the 1950s.
