Wakefield's Motors 304, EFT704F, a 1968 Leyland Leopard PSU3/4R with Alexander Y type C47F was taken over by the parent Tynemouth & District company on 1 January 1970, staying in the common number series.
Five month's later it still shows the final Wakefield's fleet name and is working one of the cross-Tyne services introduced after opening of the Tyne Tunnel to traffic in 1968.
More normal duties at least in the summer were day excursions etc as evident on SCT61 though it was equipped for OMO/OPO in 1971, and later gained NBC dual purpose livery with Tynemouth fleetnames. Absorption as Northern 4345 was on 1 January 1975, and it served until November 1980, the traditional 12-13 year life with no further owners known.
