A familiar sight around Southend for many years after being 'sold on' was PD3 CJN436C, which saw use as a play bus before falling into bad health and being retired in the mid-1990s.
In 2000 following the appeal in Bus & Coach Preservation, it was bought by Chris Pearce of Worthing and on October 3rd 2000, it was fired up for the first time in many years and driven back to Sussex. Despite multiple boil-ups on the M25, it made it in one piece and the vehicle is now under covered storage.
