One of a batch new to Southern Vectis as 508, KDL404, this 1954 LD6G first moved from the sunshine island to United Counties at Luton then to United at Scarborough and finally, after conversion to a trainer bus for United. Those of the batch that made the last hurdle to trainer bus (others fell by the wayside on the way) replaced more recently built United LD6Bs.
This may well be the mystery bus in the background of the photograph of an ECOC VR on hire to United posted recently.
