Southend Transport
Route X1

Colchester had a number of DP seated Olympian buses that were hired to Southend, in theory to provide capacity on peak London service workings. Intensely disliked by the commuters, they spent most of their tme on local services instead, such as 446 (F246MTW) on the 62 in East Street, Prittlewell on March 26, 1994. It is in the short lived “London Coachlink” livery, albeit minus any lettering.

This makes an interesting 'now and then' when compared to the photo Paul Bateson took 24 years earlier of Leyland PD2 288 at the same spot on the same route
