Southend’s coaches were sometimes used on town services as well as the X1 and its derivatives, but the Caribbean bodied Tigers were particularly unsuited to this type of work, with slow plug doors and a high floor. Nevertheless, 549 (originally 249), A249SVW, was caught on the 61 to Sutton Cemetery.
