During 1974, another Ensign hire to Southend was of 901LRR, an ex-Barton BTD2 rebuild, with full front Northern Counties lowbridge 70 seat body in a bright yellow colour scheme. The single-deck chassis had been acquired by Barton from Yorkshire Woollen District in 1961.
It was normally to be found on a peak hour working on the 3A from Pier Hill to Canvey, as seen here.
