Southend Corporation Transport
Lowbridge Leylands

A picture sent in by Murray Coleman of his grandfather, Jack Crowson, who was a Corporation driver in the late 50s and and for a few months into the 60s, in front of Leyland PD2 292, LHJ394.
He remembers him vaguely as "granddad buttons" due to the shiny silver ones on his drivers tunic. Prior to being with SCT, he drove during the 40s and 50s with London Transport. Any more info would be welcomed.

The vehicle behind looks like an Austin K8 van, possibly used by the Corporation for delivering to schools. Click here for a photo of a preserved K8.
