Southend 281, HJN841, a Weymann bodied PD2 leaves Broadway Market for the garage having finished its stint on service 8.
This batch were 'high' lowbridge buses and could not pass under the bridge at Hockley Station on Service 7.
Your scribe took his PSV driving test on one of this batch. Whilst quite pleasant to drive they were a bit 'bouncy' and apparently cost more to maintain than their Massey bodied counterparts.
All the batch enjoyed long second lives after withdrawal with operators such as Bamber Bridge MS and Cunningham, Paisley.
