The ECW-bodied RE was a classic. Which was the last is hard to determine as it depends on the criterion but what is certain is that Thamesdown's batch of five (166-170) were the only ECW ones with P-suffix registrations (there were others with East Lancs bodies). So, although they are a bit modern for this site, they are historic buses which bring the long line of this classic combination to an end. The last two of the batch, 169 and 170, JMW169P and JMW170P, are seen in the attractive Thamesdown livery on Fleming Way, Swindon.
