SELNEC Central Bus Co. 3033, WRJ182, a Leyland Titan PD2/40 with Metro-Cammell H36/28F body, new to Salford City Transport in 1963 as its 182.
Salford had bought a considerable number of these over the years, all passing to SELNEC Central in 1969 but remaining at their former home depots at Frederick Road and Weaste. As a Halifax man I felt quite at home surrounded by, and riding on these whilst working as a Schedules Clerk at SELNEC Central's Frederick Road Depot - the main differences being their vacuum brakes (as opposed to Halifax's air brakes), and of course the (to me) rather drab livery. This was one of a final set of photos I took the week before leaving to work for Halifax Corporation. Note the invalid carriage in the background - when did you last see one of those ?
