NCD94 was a Leyland-Beadle chassisless FC26F, new in 1953 to Southdown Motor Services, no. 894.
It utilised Leyland TS8 running units, in this instance from either 1182 (EUF 82), or 1188 (EUF 88) of 1938 - the PSV Circle Fleet History conflicts on this point. Some of the batch were reseated with bus seats (and, according to the PSV Circle, became B31F, i.e. half cab), but the rest retained coach seats to the end, though renumbering of the batch in December 1959 saw this become 1494.
Withdrawn in 1963, this passed to Cowley, dealer, Salford in April 1963 and to Gillard, Normanton, in May 1963. It moved on to Hartley, Leeds, in May 1964 and then to Irwin, contractor, Leeds in April 1965, where it replaced ex United Counties Bristol L5G NNO110. In this less than perfect photo, taken on a dull April day, the bus had just been rolled out of Irwin's premises off Burley Road, Leeds, following repaint into their colours.
