Former Southdown Leyland PD3/Northern Counties VUF829 and Leyland PD2/East Lancs RUF202.
Frank Cowley seemed to receive vehicles at his Salford yard from where they were dispersed to his other premises. I remember scavenging the used ticket box in one of the QMs, not sure if it was this one, and finding Setrights issued only a couple of weeks or so before. The premises were very small and often buses were just parked in the street outside (there is a set of photos in November 1966 B.I.) I used to reckon, that with persistence and frequent visits to his yards, eventually you would see the whole Southdown fleet pass through Cowley's hands.
I'm not quite sure what the address would be but it was off Blackfriars St/Chapel St adjacent to the arches under the railway line into Manchester Exchange. Possibly Gravel Lane.
