Southdown 30, VUF930, a 1959 built Commer 'Avenger' IV with Burlingham 'Seagull' C35C coachwork built primarily for local excursion work.
Seen touting for business on Royal Parade in Eastbourne, these originally had cream window surrounds which they lost upon first re-paint. The batch spent much of their lives in store as surplus, notably at Eastbourne and Bognor but would always be pressed into service on Beachy Head service 97 during the period when the open-toppers were on "Derby" duties. The roar as they climbed Sanitorium Hill still reverberates to this day!
