Seen with Parkinson, Welwyn Garden City is HCU616, a Daimler CSG6 with a Roe H35/28R body which had been new to South Shields Corporation as number 116 in 1962.
Passing to the Tyneside P.T.E. on 1st January 1970 it was soon renumbered to 316 and was withdrawn in 1971, passing via Tiger (dealer), Salsburgh to Parkinson in June 1972. It had brought a party of cub scouts to a weekend Jamboree at Gilwell Park and had obviously been fitted with platform doors at some date, together with an interesting way of painting the radiator cowl.
